Caribbean Days Festival

Business Description : Each July, the Trinidad & Tobago Cultural Society of BC presents the Caribbean Days Festival. This event draws a crowd of exuberant fun-lovers to North Vancouver's Waterfront Park for a weekend of parading, dining and dancing in the sunshine. This is a weekend of tropical rhythm, cuisine, carnival and culture as only the Caribbean can offer. Over the years, the Festival has grown into the largest Caribbean event on the local calendar -- and with tens of thousands of attendees, possibly the largest cultural event of its type in BC, period. Business Description : The Western Carnival Development Association (WCDA) is a not-for-profit group established in 1984 with a goal of developing a Caribana-style Carnival in Edmonton which would bring in participants who lived in Western Canada, including cities as Calgary, Fort McMurray, Vancouver, Winnipeg and other surrounding places. Today that vision is still alive and the Festival continues to bring in costume maintained byers, Calypsonians and steelpan players from those cities, but it has also attracted people from Toronto, Seattle, New York, Miami, and Trinidad.

Latin Summer Festival

Business Description : Vision : To Promote Latin Culture in a one-day outdoor event in Vancouver each August, through its colourful spirit, arts, culture and food. Goal : To maintain a Latin Street Festival in the Lower Mainland with community and business participants as is done in Ontario and the U.S., providing the city with activities to attract tourism and joint celebrations. The morning starts off with a parade along Commercial Drive, an import market and food pavilions surrounding an outdoor stage where artists from Flamenco to Cuban Rueda delight on stage in this free community Expo, complete with kids activity area. Uniformed volunteers aid coordination, first aid, clean up, information and assistance to public and exhibitors from 10am to 8pm.
